FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – No one is saying what Fort Wayne’s settlement with a protester from the summer of 2020 will cost the city. A judge this month dismissed the lawsuit from Balin Brake because he’s settled with Fort Wayne.
Brake lost an eye when a Fort Wayne police officer hit him with a tear gas canister during Fort Wayne’s protests in 2020.
Brake accused the police of excessive force, Fort Wayne Police say Brake was part of an illegal mob clashing with officers. The specifics of the settlement are sealed.
