FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified a woman who was shot in 2021 but died earlier this year.
Jordan Young Chin, 21, was found unresponsive in an apartment in the 1200 block of Fairfield Avenue on Feb. 15, 2022, at about 3:05 p.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Chin was the victim of a shooting on Nov. 7, 2021, when she was shot multiple times by an unknown gunman. She was admitted to a nearby hospital and was under a physician’s care until she was released, according to the coroner’s office.
The Allen County Coroner’s Office released the following:
On February 19, 2022 at about 1505 hours, the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of the death of Jordan Young Chin, female Asian 21 years of age, from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Jordan Young Chin was found unresponsive, in an apartment, in the 1200 block of Fairfield Avenue and death was pronounced by Three Rivers Ambulance Paramedics on scene.
Jordan Young Chin was the victim of a shooting on November 7, 2021, where she was shot multiple times by an unknown assailant. She was admitted to a local hospital and has been under a physician’s care since the shooting. The shooting is under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department.
An autopsy has been completed and the Cause of Death has been determined to be Complications of Multiple Gunshot Wounds and the Manner of Death is Homicide.
Jordan Young Chin is the 11th Homicide in Allen County for 2022.
