INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The ACLU is filing a legal challenge to an Indiana law that limits how close citizens can get to a police investigation.
The new encroachment law prohibits a person from knowingly or intentionally approaching within 25 feet of a police officer after the officer has ordered them to stop.
The law went into effect on July 1st. Now, it’s facing a lawsuit from the ACLU on behalf of a citizen journalist from South Bend.
