INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission will have a meeting with the state’s five largest investor-owned utilities about their response to storms in late June.
They want answers on storm readiness and response after about 100,000 AES Indiana customers were without power from June 29th to July 4th.
The regulators will meet with AES Indiana officials on September 11th, and CenterPoint Energy, Duke Energy, Indiana Michigan Power, and the Northern Indiana Public Service Company on September 22nd.
In the meantime, Indiana Michigan Power wants a rate increase of 6.8%. If granted by regulators, the average customer would see a bump of about $15 a month.
