FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Fort Wayne Police Department says a motorcyclist has life-threatening injuries after a crash Wednesday night.
Reports of the wreck came in shortly after 9 p.m. at Reed Road and St. Joe Center Road.
Officers found the single-vehicle crash off the roadway and located the driver who was rendered aid at the scene.
The FWPD says the driver’s injuries were ruled life-threatening at the hospital. Police do not yet know if speed or impairment were factors in the crash.

On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at approximately 2111 hours, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department were dispatched to the 6500 block of Reed Rd reference a single motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.
The motorcycle was traveling northbound on Reed Rd when it left the roadway. Officers on scene rendered aid to the driver of the motorcycle. Medics transported the driver to a local hospital. The driver’s injuries from the crash were determined to be life threatening at the hospital.
Speed is being investigated to determine if it was a factor in the crash. It is unknown at this time if alcohol played a role in the crash.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department’s Fatal Crash Team.
