New troopers assigned to the ISP Fort Wayne Post
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – On Thursday, December 21, 2023, 28 newly appointed probationary troopers graduated from the Indiana State Police 84th Academy Class.
Tuesday morning, after a short period off for the holidays, those troopers all reported to their assigned patrol districts across the state. Each officer will now begin their field training program, a three-month period where they will be working alongside and under the close observation and scrutiny of a seasoned trooper trainer. Two of these new officers have been assigned to the Fort Wayne Post.
Indiana State Police released the following:
Trooper Anthony Gerardot, 28, is a native of New Haven, Indiana. He graduated from New Haven High School in 2013. After graduating from high school he served in the Indiana National Guard at Fort Sam Houston as a healthcare specialist, and worked locally for the last nine years as a professional driver before being hired by the Indiana State Police. Trooper Gerardot has been assigned patrol duties in the Adams, Blackford, Jay, and Wells Counties, which will begin once his field training is complete. He currently resides in Allen County.

Trooper Ryan Hale, 24, is a native of Daleville, Indiana. He graduated from Daleville Jr/Sr High School in 2018. He graduated from Huntington University in 2022, where he played baseball all four years. Hale served as a confinement officer at the Huntington County Jail for approximately six months prior to being accepted into the 84th Recruit Academy. Upon completion of field training, Hale has also been assigned to patrol duties in the Adams, Blackford, Jay, and Wells County region of the district. Hale currently resides in Wells County.
While at the academy these troopers completed over 1,100 hours of academic and practical hands-on training in criminal and traffic law, crash investigation, emergency vehicle operations, defensive tactics, firearms proficiency, de-escalation tactics, impaired driving detection, scenario-based training, and a multitude other classes necessary for modern policing.
