FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – On Thursday, Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation made the decision to pull the Sweet Breeze Canal Boat from the St. Marys River prior to the originally scheduled end of the season on October 12, 2025.
“It’s always bittersweet to say goodbye to Sweet Breeze for the season,” said Manager of Salomon Farm Park, Outdoor Recreation and Boating Eden Lamb. “The decision to close prior to the original schedule was made to ensure the safety of all participants and staff. Thank you for support and understanding. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2026.”
The following was released:
The river levels have been monitored closely for a few weeks. Lower than usual river levels create risks that outweigh the benefits of operation. All ticket holders for canceled tours will be contacted and reimbursed.
