Deere & Company has reached a settlement in a class-action antitrust lawsuit tied to its farm equipment repair practices, resolving claims that the company restricted access to critical repair tools and services.
The litigation centered on allegations that Deere limited farmers’ ability to fix their own equipment or use independent mechanics—forcing reliance on authorized dealers and driving up costs.
Under the agreement, funds will be distributed to affected class members pending court approval, with a portion also covering legal and administrative expenses.
The settlement marks a significant development in the broader “right-to-repair” debate, though related regulatory actions, including a federal case brought by the FTC and several states, are still ongoing.
