Indiana 4-H members across the state are gearing up to put their hard work on display as project judging season is just around the corner.
Through Indiana 4-H, young people showcase everything from livestock and photography to sewing and robotics, all while building valuable life skills.
Megan Skiba, 4-H Club Support and Recognition Specialist says, “I think we have about 40 different projects. They range in skill and different topics. We offer a foods project. And we also offer some different opportunities in Stem and computers. We also offer woodworking, sewing, arts and crafts. So that’s just a few of the projects they can bring in.”
Project judging gives participants the chance to meet one-on-one with judges, explain their work, and receive constructive feedback.
Skiba continued, “I would say that is such an incredible opportunity for the 4-H members, because it builds those hands-on communication skills. It just sets those 4-H members up for success for the rest of their lives.”
Organizers say it’s about much more than ribbons…it’s an opportunity for youth to develop confidence, communication skills, and a deeper understanding of their projects.
