The Purdue Institute for a Sustainable Future and Purdue Extension have partnered to host the 2026 Indiana Land Use Summit on August 27, 2026 at the Beck Agricultural Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The tour will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for the first 90 participants. This year’s event focuses on renewable energy and agrivoltaics, using the same language for solar energy and agricultural production.
The summit is targeted for local government employees, plan commission members, and conservation agencies and will showcase the Agrivoltaics Research Platform at Purdue University’s Agronomy Center for Research & Education (ACRE).
Attendees will learn technical tools, practical strategies, and various approaches to address the ever-changing land use challenges. Research will be features from both Indiana Renewable Energy Siting through Technical Engagement and Planning (IN R-STEP) and Midwest Agrivoltaics for Resilient Communities.
