FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Max Engling is the Republican Party’s nominee for Indiana secretary of state in November. Engling won the nomination at the GOP convention in Fort Wayne on Saturday and will face Democrat Beau Bayh and Libertarian Lauri Shillings.
Former Republican Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard is also a likely independent candidate. Engling received 53 percent of the vote in the second ballot, beating Knox County Clerk David Shelton and incumbent Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales, who finished a distant third.
