INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The state of Indiana will receive at least $300 million in a settlement with Meta Platforms Incorporated to resolve claims that Facebook and Instagram were designed to addict children.
Meta will pay $16.8 billion to settle the case.
Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita says the “settlement is a milestone victory for Hoosier families” and includes new safeguards. Those include nighttime access blocks, removing public counts and requiring daily screen breaks among others.
