INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration says 82,000 Hoosiers have lost Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits as a result of changes made in President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.”
The act took effect in October 2025, and nearly 13,000 in the state lost SNAP between October and November, and the number of people removed from the benefits peaked at 16,000 in May. FSSA officials can’t say how many people were removed for ineligibility or procedural mistakes like incomplete or missing paperwork.
Able-bodied adults have to prove they are working at least 80 hours a month or they will lose SNAP benefits.
