The Indiana Farm Service Agency (FSA) is looking to add staff at county offices across the state.
The agency currently has County Program Analyst positions open in ten Indiana locations, including Anderson, Crawfordsville, Decatur, Frankfort, Greencastle, Lebanon, Manilla, Marion, Rensselaer and Winamac.
“There’s been some changes in some of our hiring regulations, and it’s freed up some positions available in our county offices in their program analysis positions. They’re our customer facing. They’re the ones that meet and greet. The employees that take care of our farmers across the state.”
That’s according to Steve Brown, Executive Director of the FSA, who says County Program Analysts are often the first point of contact for farmers, helping producers understand federal programs, complete forms and navigate requirements.
Also applications for the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program are due today.
Brown continues, “Our eligible producers, it’ll help them receive payments for stages one and two. And the program is for calendar years 2023 and 2024, depending on their losses.”
Stage One generally covers indemnified losses, while Stage Two addresses certain non-indemnified, uninsured and quality losses.
