OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

LOCATION

1. The contest will take place on Saturday, September 12^th at Knockin’ Boots Saloon inside Jefferson Crossing, 6115 W Jefferson Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN at 3pm. Registration and practice rides begin at 2pm, and is first come, first served.

ELIGIBILITY

1. Contest is open to participants age 8 and older, subject to the mechanical bull operator’s age, height, weight, and other eligibility requirements.
2. Participants under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian complete the required registration and waiver.
3. Age division is determined by the participant’s age on the date of the event.
4. The event operator may refuse participation to anyone who does not meet the equipment manufacturer’s or operator’s safety requirements.

AGE DIVISIONS

• Youth: Ages 8-13
• Teen: Ages 14–17
• Adult: Ages 18+

COMPETITION FORMAT

Each rider receives 3 rides with a maximum length of 15 seconds. At the end of the 3 rides for each contestant in each division,  1st, 2nd and 3rd place positions will be rewarded, each of whom will receive one pair of tickets for the PBR Challenger Series on October 3^rd at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum

RIDE TIMES

• Rides will last a maximum of 15 seconds.

SCORING

A participant’s score is the number of seconds they remain on the bull.

The rider with the longest official ride receives the highest score.

The official time is determined by the event’s mechanical bull operator/timing system.

Once the maximum ride time is reached, the rider receives the maximum score for their division.

END OF RIDE

A ride ends when:

• The rider touches the ground;
• The rider releases the riding rope or handle;
• The rider is no longer properly positioned or in control;
• The operator stops the ride for safety; or
• The maximum ride time is reached.

TIE-BREAKERS

If two or more participants have the same score for a qualifying position or award, the tied participants will receive an additional ride when permitted by the event operator.

Any additional ride will be conducted using a safe, operator-approved setting appropriate for the participant’s age and size.

If another ride cannot safely or practically be conducted, the event organizers may award a shared placing.

SAFETY

1. All participants must follow the instructions of the mechanical bull operator and event staff.
2. The operator has complete authority to stop or modify a ride for safety reasons.
3. The bull’s speed, direction, duration and difficulty are determined by the trained operator.
4. The operator may use different settings for different age divisions.
5. Participants must comply with all required protective equipment and safety procedures.
6. Horseplay, intentional interference with another participant, or failure to follow staff instructions may result in disqualification.
7. A participant may be disqualified or removed from the competition if the operator determines that continued participation is unsafe.
8. The event organizers reserve the right to modify, postpone or cancel the competition due to weather, equipment problems, safety concerns or other circumstances beyond their control.

CHAMPIONS

PBR Challenger Series tickets for October 3^rd at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum will be presented to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each age division.

The event operator’s and contest officials’ decisions regarding ride timing, safety and scoring are final.
