FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – Fort Wayne police (FWPD) are asking the public to give them tips as they investigate a man’s death Tuesday morning. He was found unconscious just before 6 a.m. at the intersection of Harrison and Grand streets and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the Homicide Unit is investigating along with their Air Support Unit and Crime Scene Unit. The man’s name and age have not been released.
The FWPD released the following late Tuesday morning:
On August 18, 2026, at approximately 5:55 a.m., the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a 911
call regarding an unconscious adult male at the intersection of Grand Street and Harrison Street.
Officers arrived on scene and immediately began providing emergency medical treatment. Despite the
lifesaving efforts of officers and medics, the male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Due to the circumstances surrounding the death, the Fort Wayne Police Department Homicide Unit, Air
Support Unit, and Crime Scene Unit responded to conduct a comprehensive death investigation.
Investigators are currently canvassing the area for surveillance and other video evidence. Anyone who
may have information related to this incident is encouraged to contact the Fort Wayne Police

through the P3 Tips app.
The investigation is being conducted with the assistance of the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the
Allen County Coroner’s Office.
