FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ADAMS) – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) says there is more road construction heading to Coliseum Boulevard.
Starting on Monday, INDOT said crews will begin work on a portion of Coliseum Boulevard, or SR 930, near the E Washington Boulevard exchange. INDOT says the work is part of an ongoing project over the railroad bridge at the interchange.
The right lane of eastbound Coliseum Boulevard, along with the ramp onto westbound E Washington Boulevard, will be closed during construction. This stage of the project will last around a week, weather permitting.
INDOT released the following:
The Indiana Department of Transportation announces alternating lane closures and a ramp closure on State Road 930/Coliseum Boulevard as part of ongoing construction in Fort Wayne.
Starting on or after October 19, crews will complete bridge construction on S.R. 930 over the railroad bridge near the interchange with E. Washington Boulevard and S.R. 930. Crews will begin with the closure of the eastbound right lane and the ramp from eastbound S.R. 930 to westbound Washington Blvd. Crews will also close the left lane of westbound S.R. 930 as part of this work.
Construction on the bridge is expected to last for approximately one week. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
Drivers should use extra caution in the area during the lane closures. Motorists needing to access westbound Washington Blvd. from eastbound S.R. 930 should seek an alternate route during the closure.
INDOT encourages drivers to consider safety for all by slowing down and driving distraction-free when travelling in and around all work zones.
